Dr Maria Aleksandrovich got her MA degree in Psychology with honour at the Belarussian State Pedagogical University in Minsk, Belarus in 1998. In the same year, she got an Award of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Belarus for the best student’s work in the field of Psychology. After this success, she got a position as an Assistant Professor. She has been reading the course “Psychology of Individual Differences and Developmental Psychology” for students of different specialities and levels at the Belarusian State Pedagogical University and in addition, Psychology of the Gifted and Talented (taught in English) at Belarusian State University in Minsk. Since 2005, she has been teaching Developmental Psychology at Pomeranian University in Slupsk, Poland. In the last decade she has been also a guest professor at the Finnmark University College in Alta (Norway), at the Maribor University (Slovenia) and at the Jan Evangelista Purkyně University in Ústí nad Labem (Czech Republic). As a Coordinator of the International Cooperation with East European Countries and a Coordinator of the ERASMUS+ Programs, she is working with both Polish and international students and staff.
Current work and research interests
For the last 12 years Dr Maria Aleksandrovich has been the Head of the Department of Psychology at the Pomeranian University in Slupsk. Among her duties she is administrating the work of the Department of Psychology, taking care for didactic process and career development of the employees. She has developed and administrated the study program for the BA and MA speciality “Psychopedagogy”, the study program for the postgraduate courses “Psychological support” and “Early support of child’s development”. She has also been engaged in the process of organising international scientific conferences and popular scientific events for children and adults. Her research interests are in the field of Psychology of Individual Difference, Psychology of the Gifted and Talented and Psychology of Dance.
